At some point in the early phase, I started experimenting with different inexpensive alternatives to stretched canvas, when my neighbour came along with some old shipping crate materials.
So one day I decided to play with the thus far unused warmer part of the colours – with no particular process or outcome in mind. When I was done, my son, who was then about to move out to go to university came into the room and observed that what had snuck into my painting was a giant dinosaur head…
I like to think of it as the ‘smiling dragon’
